Student Systems Analyst (Job Number: 1901202)


The Student Systems Analyst is part of the Office of the University Registrar at Vanderbilt University and is a key contributor responsible for set-up, maintenance, and processing of student information using the student systems in place at Vanderbilt University. The Student Systems Analyst must be willing to work in a team setting with other Enrollment Management personnel as well as work independently with minimal direct supervision. The ability to multi-task and prioritize system and end-user needs is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to systemplanning activities. Work with users to gather specifications for data andreporting requirements.

  • Participate in testing,documenting, and training as systems are implemented and updated.

  • Create, maintain, andoptimize reports from student systems using PeopleSoft query tools.

  • Participate in businessprocess redesign activities as dictated by business needs and systems changes.

  • Have a thoroughunderstanding of the structure of student systems under assigned functionalareas in order to manage end-user support issues.

  • Maintain databaseelements to store appropriate student information.

  • Process data changesvia downloads and direct entry as appropriate.

  • Establish and runprocesses to update PeopleSoft and other systems data.

  • May be assigned toprovide support to multiple functional areas as needed.

Profile of an Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited institution of higher education is necessary.

  • At least two years ofrelevant professional experience is necessary.

  • Experience withPeopleSoft Campus Solutions is preferred.

  • Proficiency withMicrosoft Office (Excel) is preferred.

  • Ability toindependently analyze problems and determine potential solutions is necessary.

  • Attention to detail anda commitment to defining and documenting processes and ensuring accuracy isnecessary.
