The Senior Assistant/Associate Dean of MBA Operations plays a pivotal role in the Owen Graduate School of Management's relationship with prospective and current students. Owen’s mission is to deliver world-class business education on a personal scale. The school’s graduate focus and small-scale enable a distinctive end-to-end student experience. Working closely with colleagues in the dean’s office, faculty, staff and student leaders, the Senior Assistant/Associate Dean's focus is to deliver the Owen experience from the moment a prospective MBA student becomes interested in Owen until they graduate. This includes oversight of Admissions, Academic Programs and Student Life, Shared Services, Extracurricular Learning, and the Career Management Center (CMC).

Duties and Responsibilities
Overseesstrategic planning for MBA Admissions, Academic Programs and Student Life, andCareer Management Center (CMC).
Inconjunction with the Dean, determines the vision, goals and priorities forAdmissions, CMC, and Academic Programs and Student Life.
Overseesshared services functions and operations across all of Owen’s professionalprograms.
Supportsthe Admissions team and represent Owen to prospective MBA students.
AdvisesOwen’s Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team to develop an effectivemarketing and communications strategy for communicating the Owen experience.
Assuresthat programming from orientation through graduation support the vision, goalsand priorities of the Owen experience.
Leadsstrategic initiatives related to student satisfaction and communication.Reinforces Admissions and Career Managementcommunications with current students regarding the goals, performance metrics,and statistics.
Worksto align Admissions and CMC goals and execution.
Servesas surrogate for the Dean in nurturing important corporate relationships.
Actsas the Dean of Students in circumstances requiring escalation.
Coordinateswith centers and programs delivering extracurricular learning; examples includethe Owen Center for Entrepreneurship and the Turner Family Center for SocialVentures.
Collaborateswith academic deans on issues of curriculum and student academic performance.
Enhancesrelationships with alumni to accomplish goals of Admissions, CMC, andextracurricular learning.
Servesas liaison to Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), Owen Alumni Board, OwenBoard of Visitors, Owen Student Government Associate (OSGA), and other internalconstituents regarding matters related to the MBA programs.
Servesas a cultural champion for equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Senior Assistant/Associate Dean of MBA Operations will report to the Dean and serve on the Executive Committee for the Owen Graduate School of Management. This position oversees the Admissions, Academic Programs & Student Life, Extracurricular Learning and Career Management department directors and their teams.
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
AMaster’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education isnecessary.
AMasters of Business Administration from an accredited institution of highereducation is preferred.
ADoctorate degree in an applicable area from an accredited institution of highereducation is preferred.
Ten to fifteen years of prior experience at either an academic institution or in applicable corporate experience and a demonstrated track record of success in CareerService, Student Life and/or Admissions (or similar) is necessary.
Experiencein building and maintaining a national/international network of externalconstituents is necessary.
Anabilitytobalance thediverseneedsofthejobanditsvariousconstituents (prospectivestudents,currentstudents, alumni,faculty,andcorporateclients) is necessary.
Outstandingverbalandwrittencommunicationskills are necessary.
Excellent interpersonalskills and strong management ability; capabilityto supervise professional staff effectively is necessary.
