The Research Field Collector is part of the Fuchs’ Research Projects/Special Education at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University and is a key individual contributor responsible for serving as a research fidelity tapes coder. This position will code three years of fidelity tapes for the federally funded research project, “Embedding Working Memory Training with Math Problem Solving Intervention. Reporting directly to the Project PI, Lynn Fuchs, the Research Field Collector will work approximately 18 hours/week with the Fuchs’ Working Memory Research Team.
Our mission is to conduct research aimed at improving the effectiveness of tutoring elementary aged students with identified math and reading learning disabilities. Using field research, program evaluation, and tutoring intervention, our faculty and staff help determine which programs are actually making a difference in the lives of the children they serve.
This is a part-time/flex, non-exempt term positionlasting from up to one year or longer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a system for indexingfidelity scores for research assistants’ implementation of the workingmemory games.
Implement a plan forsystematically sampling 3 years of fidelity tapes.
Code sample tapes (with doublecoding on a subsample of the subsample).
This is apart-time/flex, non-exempt term position lasting from up to one year orlonger.

Master’s degree isrequired.
Must have experience workingwith the “Embedding Working Memory Training with Math Problem SolvingIntervention”, a federally funded, Institute of Educational Sciencesgrant.
