The Office of Immersion Resources seeks energetic, creative, and team-oriented candidates to advise students and provide programmatic support for Immersion Vanderbilt. Immersion Vanderbilt calls for each undergraduate student to participate in an intensive learning experience that takes place in and beyond the classroom and culminates in the completion of a final project. Immersion Vanderbilt requires campus wide involvement from all schools and colleges. The Office of Immersion Resources (OIR) synchronizes efforts across campus, functioning to provide central support and communication so that students and faculty have the resources they need.
Characteristic duties include, but are not limited to, providing guidance to students and serving as a point of contact for campus partners; hosting workshops, advising sessions, and other events about Immersion experiences; meeting with campus constituents to build interdisciplinary partnerships; provide support for students, faculty, and staff on administrative functions of Immersion Vanderbilt. The position will collaborate with faculty, colleges/schools, staff, campus partner offices, and programs across the University and beyond in support of the mission of Immersion Vanderbilt.
Duties and Responsibilities
Advise undergraduatestudents drafting Immersion Vanderbilt plans
Develop expertise inone of four Immersion Pathways: Civic and Professional, Creative Expression,International, or Research
Conduct office hoursand workshops across campus
Guide students throughthe Immersion process
Track students’progress to ensure advancement by key benchmarking dates
Help manage the ImmersionVanderbilt opportunity database
Assist withcoordinating, creating and implementing Immersion Project showcases and events
Track and recordcompletion of Immersion experiences
Plan and developprograms and related events to communicate established goals, objectives andtimelines
Gather student successstories and assist with crafting communications
Collate data to producereports and regular updates in support of the program
Participate in websiteand social media communications

Profile of an Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree froman accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of 2 years ofrelevant experience is necessary.
Strong organizationaland planning skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is necessary.
Ability to workoccasional nights and weekends is necessary.
Self-motivation with apositive and professional approach is necessary.
Exceptionalinterpersonal skills with the ability to interact with students is necessary.
Master’s degree from anaccredited institution of higher education is strongly preferred.
Ability to workindependently and as part of a team is necessary.
Proficient in MS Officesoftware tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other softwaretools for communication, analysis and office operations is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated interestin STEM research, international study, creative expression, or community andcivic engagement is preferred.
