We are seeking a professional, energetic, and detail-oriented Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director and ultimately the Evans Family Executive Director, the Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will include implementing programs and events as part of our Social Innovations pillar. This role will also include further developing collaborations and partnerships with on-campus organizations, helping to build and sustain our mentor network, and providing training and oversight to our student ambassadors.

The Wond’ry is a key resource in supporting immersive, interdisciplinary experiences, invention prototyping, new venture development, and creative collisions among Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff. Likewise, the Wond’ry is an initial point of contact for alumni, corporate partners, and local businesses that want to access the Vanderbilt University innovation community.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator for the Wond’ry will perform operational and programming duties for the Center. In particular, the Program Coordinator will perform complex duties, to include:
Social Innovations Initiatives
Assist in the creation of programming and workshops for ourSocial Innovations Pillar Program.
Coordinate ongoing collaborations and future collaborationsinvolving social innovation initiatives with organizations across campus and inthe external community.
Develop deep partnerships with on-campus organizationsincluding Turner Family Center, Office of Active Citizenship and Service, andDesign as an Immersive Vanderbilt Experience to support and co-promote theirevents and activities and explore potential future collaborations.
Oversee events and ensure that activities arewell-supported and well-received by participants.
Sustaining and supporting partnerships and collaborations for the Wond’ry
Assist in the development of an overall strategic outreachplan to raise awareness for the Wond’ry and its programs to on-campus currentand potential partners – Centers, Student Organizations, Schools, andIndividuals – to foster inclusive excellence and collaborations.
Provide support to the Wond’ry’s current mentor network andassist with the onboarding, training, and scheduling of new mentors.
Coordinate the design and production of promotionalmaterials to create awareness of specific workshops and events in an effort tomotivate cross-campus participation.
Coordinate the creation of presentations, videos, and othercontent highlighting these ongoing effort.
Provide daily support to ensure Wond’ry workshops, events, partners, and staff are well-supported
Oversee Wond’ry related events (both internal andthird-party led) held at the Wond’ry including, but not limited to, speakerseries, seminars, hackathons, business plan competitions and other relatedentrepreneurial endeavors to ensure their smooth operation.
Co-manage our student ambassadors/intern program.
Coordinate logistics for events (prepping for, setting up,and managing the take down of events).
Assist with the day-to-day operations, as well as theformulation and execution of long term projects and initiatives for the center.
Assist with the creation of Key Performance Metricstracking information, feedback surveys, and reports.
Participate in weekly team meetings and biannual strategicplanning sessions.
Provide support and assistance to other members of the teamas needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Familiarity with and experience in the nonprofit, socialsector or social impact fields strongly preferred.
Positive, energetic, and proactive attitude with a passionfor innovation and creativity.
Interest in and commitment to service, social impact andthe common good.
Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, andaccessibility.
Experience successfully developing partnerships andcollaborations from early outreach through to partnership and event creationand culmination with minimal oversight.
Extremely well organized and have excellent time managementskills with the ability to successfully handle multiple projects at once.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact fluidlywith the many different individuals and organizations that will contact andwork with the Center.
Experience navigating university policies and procedures,and a desire to expand and deepen that knowledge and experience.
Proficient in office software tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel,Word, PowerPoint), and other software tools for communication, analysis andoffice operations.
Experience with design thinking and/or Lean Launchmethodology a plus.
Flexible in their job expectations and schedule in anoffice that is on the cutting edge of innovation.
