The Marketing Strategy Manager for Executive Programs reports to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management. The Marketing Strategy Manager works closely with program directors of the Executive MBA, Master of Management in Health Care, and Vanderbilt Executive education to develop marketing strategies and tactical plans for each program that will achieve goals for awareness, leads/inquiries, registrations, applications and conversion.

Key Functions and Expected Performance

  • Develops marketing strategies and integrated tactical plans for assigned programs.

  • Develops marketing strategies and integrated tactical plans for assigned programs.

  • Develops strong relationships and effective collaborative processes with program partners

  • Facilitates annual and periodic planning sessions for assigned programs

  • Helps articulate quantifiable objectives and recommends tactics and timeline to achieve

  • Develops and monitors marketing communications budget to achieve plan

  • Tracks and analyzes key metrics and performance data in real-time

  • Conducts marketing research and competitive analysis to inform decision-making

  • Proactively seeks ways to help programs improve performance

Serves as program advocate and liaison for school-wide Marcomm efforts.

  • Serves as a program advocate and liaison for schoolwide and cross-program efforts (e.g., branding initiatives, website, commflow, social media initiatives, etc.)

  • Represents partners’ interests/accomplishments in school’s PR and publications

  • Ensures that programs are equipped to handle decentralized Marcomm activities-website content upkeep, commflow, social media.

Develops and distributes compelling messaging and content for target audiences.

  • Develops creative briefs that drive creative content and messaging for programs

  • Maintains Copy Platform for clear, consistent presentation of features and benefits

  • Ensures that the VOGSM branding standards are consistently applied

  • Manages creative materials needed to execute tactical plan, including but not limited to:

o Sales brochures and printed collateral

o Direct response communications—email and direct mail

o Web copy and graphic presentation

o Advertising—digital and traditional

o Video and interactive presentations

o Social media and online communities

  • Oversees flawless execution of tactical plans.

  • Secures and supervises creative and operational resources needed for tactical plans

Supervisory Relationships

This position has no direct reports and reports directly to Director of the MarComm Team

Education and Certifications

BS or BA in marketing, communications, journalism, etc. MBA preferred

Experience and Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience with proven results in marketing & communications initiatives

  • Passion for performance, seeking out new opportunities, solving problems

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with partners, peers,providers

  • Ability to tolerate and make forward progress in the face ambiguity
