Library Service Desk Assistant (Job Number: 1901152)
The Temporary Service Desk Assistant is part of the Walker Management Library at Vanderbilt University. This key individual is responsible for providing excellent customer service and support to library users, including Vanderbilt students, faculty, and community members.
Asa member of the Walker Management Library team, the Service Desk Assistantperforms library related services that create an environment conducive toresearch and study.
A key component of the position isstaffing the service desk, helping library users who visit the library orcontact the library via phone or email.
Other responsibilities include openingthe library, attending to library printer issues, re-shelving & maintainingorder in the Owen reserves collection, connecting users with research questionsto library research guides or Librarians on call.
Other clerical tasks as assigned.
Profileof an Ideal Candidate
Must adhere to business-casual dresscode.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience with MS Outlook isnecessary.
Experience using a multi-line phonesystem is preferred.
Some customer service experience isnecessary.
