IT Support Technician (School of Nursing) (Job Number: 1801915)
Our IT staff ensure that the School of Nursing computers and other ancillary devices run efficiently. Providing hardware/software technical support to Faculty/Staff/Students. In this role, the candidate will perform technical duties essential to the installation and support of PC LAN components, including workstations, printers and workstation software. Provide computer training to new users, assist end users with hardware and software problem resolution, and maintain supporting documentation. Plan and schedule installation, maintenance requests, and coordinate actions with users or departmental staff.

Duties and responsibilities
Participate in the LANcomponent installation, maintenance, and support.
Determine system requirements
Configure, test, and installLAN components
Document additions andmodifications to the LAN
Monitor, troubleshoot, andresolve LAN and related equipment problems.
Perform routine testing andanalysis of all network facilities, including equipment, trans-missionmedia, and software;
Assist in identifying anddiagnosing problems and/or factors affecting network performance;
Provide intermediate LAN andrelated component troubleshooting;
Refer advanced LAN and relatedcomponent troubleshooting calls to appropriate support group;
Participate in providingeffective solutions to LAN problems while minimizing downtime
Participate in theinvestigation and resolution of software-related problems 2g. Documentproblems and solutions;
Installation and maintenance ofthe LAN.
Install and configure LANcomponents such as monitors, printers, and workstations
Maintain an inventory ofequipment, such as monitors, printers, and workstations
Maintain an inventory ofsoftware licenses
Maintain a library of technicalmanuals and support documentation
Test application softwarerevisions for compatibility
Apply and confirm softwarerevisions during non-peak utilization
Profile ofan Ideal Candidate
An Associate’s degree ininformation technology is necessary.
At least two years of ITexperience is necessary.
