Educational Consultant (Instructional Coach) (Job Number: 1801965)
This staff position will be responsible for serving as an instructional coach to school personnel who are implementing reading interventions as part of a federally-funded model demonstration project. This staff member will be responsible for: assisting with the design, delivery, and evaluation of professional development provided to school personnel who are learning to deliver reading intervention and related assessments to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities; including providing on-going coaching guidance to school personnel, a majority of which will be provided virtually; assisting school personnel as they conduct assessments with participating students; travel to participating schools to conduct interviews and observations; conducting data entry and data checking; may be involved in travel to other sites for meetings, interviews, or observations. This position does not have supervisory responsibility. The position reports administratively to the Project Coordinator and functionally to the Primary Investigator.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Providesassistance and coaching to project participants by providing ongoingcoaching guidance to school personnel (majority will be virtually).
Assists school personnel asthey contact assessments with participating students.
Maintains frequent contact withparticipating teachers.
Assistsin the management of professional development activities by traveling toparticipating schools to conducting interviews and observations, travelingto other sites for meetings, doing data entry and checking and makingConference presentations.
Provides support in formativeand summative evaluations by managing and collecting school data, andassisting with data analysis and report preparation.
In-State travel (TN) and Out-of-State (NY) travel may be required.
Profile of an IdealCandidate:
A Master’s Degree in specialeducation or related field from an accredited institution of highereducation is necessary.
1 year of experience isnecessary.
A special education teachercertification is necessary.
Interventions to students withintellectual and developmental disabilities is necessary.
Previous experience serving asan instructional coach is preferred.
