The Administrative Manager provides administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean in the School of Nursing and/or work unit. Serves as a primary resource for the daily operation of the work unit to faculty, staff, and students. Independently manages programs and/or activities for the work unit by serving as a liaison with internal/external groups, maintaining workflow processes and maintaining external materials and website, related to the program. In collaboration with the Center Financial Unit manager, manages financial activities of the work unit, to include monitoring expenditures, researching discrepancies, and making projections/recommendations to the budget.
The Center for Research Development and Scholarship supports many activities related to pre-award and post-award federal and non-federal grant submission and other scholarship activities. In addition, the Center serves as the main section for which tenure-track faculty are appointed and receive mentorship.

Duties and responsibilities
Manages administrative detail for the Senior Associate Dean
Exercise independent judgment to coordinate and prioritize Senior Associate Dean's calendar, emails, meeting requests and speaking engagements
Consults with and advises Senior Associate Dean on VU policies and procedures and other issues related to faculty and VUSN committees
Handles confidential and sensitive information
Facilitates new hiring processing and coordinate orientation of staff and faculty
Ensures CRDS webpages and associated pages (related to doctoral and postdoctoral program) are current
Coordinates other activities related to faculty and visiting scholar/professor travel
Acquires approval of travel authorization requests from faculty and processes conference registrations
Makes procurement card purchases for department and endowed chair accounts; reconciles monthly expenditures and procurement card statements
Makes travel arrangements for Senior Associate Dean, Visiting Professors and Faculty Candidates; also processes Concur expense reports
Schedules itineraries for Visiting Professors and Faculty Candidates
Maintains inventory of office supplies for department and handles special requests
Independently oversees daily operation of department
Communicates, implements, interprets policies and procedures as appropriate
Facilities process improvement for work unit
Serves as primary resource for daily operations of the work unit
Serves as primary contact to faculty, staff, Dean's office, VU as well as local, national and international agencies/organizations in matters relating to the work unit
Coordinates program activities and/or events for the Center
Independently prepares, distributes and collects correspondence relating to a center program, meeting or activity
Write specifications and negotiates contracts for procurement of services, supplies and equipment according to University Purchasing policies and guidelines
Hires, trains, directs and supervises student assistants, volunteers, and contractual employees hired for center events
Profile ofan Ideal Candidate
A Bachelor’s degree from anaccredited institution of higher education isrequired.
3+ years’ of experience isrequired.
Demonstrated attention todetail is strongly preferred.
Strong organizationalskills are strongly preferred.
Experience with MicrosoftOffice is required
Experiencewith Google Docs, Zoom and Skypeare preferred.
Prior experience with thedevelopment of flow charts and Word tables
