Vanderbilt University Research Technician, Biochemistry, Bhowmick Lab in Nashville, Tennessee

The Bhowmick lab (starting on July 1st, 2024) is seeking a talented research technician to join our group in the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University. The selected individual will be responsible for investigating genome instability in cancer. This position is ideal for applicants with a keen interest in basic cellular mechanisms and cancer biology.

The Bhowmick Lab, located in the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University, is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic research technician who will have the opportunity to gain expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry. The lab's primary focus is studying genome instability in cancer, which is a critical characteristic of cancer cells enabling them to adapt and evolve under constant proliferation. The lab's ultimate goal is to unravel the intricate molecular mechanisms that underpin the maintenance of genome stability, understand how cancer cells subvert these mechanisms, and develop innovative strategies to target these vulnerabilities. Ultimately, we endeavor to pioneer transformative approaches in cancer therapeutics, advancing the frontiers of scientific understanding and clinical intervention. The lab primarily relies on biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, as well as genomics, proteomics, and CRISPR screens.
